Tarbert and the North Kintyre area are passionate about events and festivals, from small events to raise money for small local charities, to large popular nationally recognised events such as the long standing Tarbert Seafood Festival, Music Festival and Scottish Series Regatta.

The annual regatta, the second largest in the UK happens in Tarbert. The month of May sees Tarbert's natural harbour a vast sea of yachts of all sizes and caliber who race over a number of days on Loch Fyne.

The event and its competitors means that most accommodation in the village is taken, however there should be plenty of accommodation just outside the village.

Tarbert Seafood Festival has a part of local heritage and has been running now for over 25 years. It is one of, if not the last remaing seafood festivals in Scotland kept alive by a voluntary committee, and many local volunteers.

The event celebrates the industry from which the village owes its lifeblood and which continues to be essential to the economy here, on top of that you will not find fresher shellfish and seafood anywhere, landed only yards from the establishments that serve it!

The event brings together cooking demonstrations, entertainment, music and family fun over two days and continues to grow each year. The picturesque drive from all directions to the village is well worth it for what is a real community fun event.

Tarbert Music Festival is a contemporary event featuring some great music, in small informal venues around the harbour. Most tastes are catered for and it has been a popular event for visitors for many years for its amazing feel good factor where everyone has a great time.

The event, held in September each year is very much part of Tarbert's annual life.
